Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science , a master’s in Political Science and Public Policy and Administration, and a PhD in Public Administration. He began his career at a development bank before joining the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) Cadre. He served in field administration, the secretariat, foreign-aided projects, and as head of various departments and corporations. Arastoo Khan, the former Secretary to the Bangladesh Government, served as the chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. Additionally, he held the position of Chairman at Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited. Currently, he serves as the Managing Director and CEO of Impress Capital Ltd. Furthermore, Arastoo Khan holds the role of Treasurer at the Center for Zakat Management (CZM). He graduated from John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
Dr. Mohammad Ayub Miah former Secretary to Bangladesh Government. He has been working as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Center for Zakat Management (CZM) for last thirteen years. CZM is a non-profit charity Organization promoting Zakat and advocating for institutionalizing zakat for poverty alleviation. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration and a Post Graduate Diploma from Victoria University of Manchester, U.K.
Professor Dr. Sayeda Razia Sultana is a faculty member at the Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET, where she has served two terms as Head. She holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from BUET and a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Canada. A recipient of the 2023 OPCW–The Hague Award, she has contributed significantly to chemical safety and security. Dr. Sultana served on the OPCW Scientific Advisory Board (2018–2023) and is currently a subject matter expert for the US State Department’s Chemical Security Program. She advises the BNACWC under the Armed Forces Division and has contributed to national policies on chemical and environmental safety. Now She is serving the Energy Regulatory Commission as a member.
Dr. Mohammad Omar Farooq holds a PhD in Economics and an extensive academic background in Islamic finance, banking, and development economics. Before joining academia, he worked in the banking sector and development institutions in various capacities. Over the years, he has taught at universities in the United States, the Middle East, and South Asia. His research and publications focus on Islamic economics, finance, and moral philosophy, with a strong emphasis on socio-economic justice and sustainable development. Currently, he is serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at United International University (UIU), Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Dr. Zubair Mohammad Ehsanul Hoque is currently working as a Professor and Chairman at the Department of Arabic in the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Previously he worked as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor in the same University. Besides, he served in Bangladesh Civil Service as District Information Officer for about two years. He has authored five books and more than twenty research articles. His areas of interest include language teaching, translation studies and Islamic jurisprudence of calamity. He is also a member of shariah supervisory Board of Center for Zakat Management CZM.
Dr. M. Mizanur Rahman is an economist with expertise in Agricultural Economics,microeconomics, macroeconomics, Islamic economics, banking, microcredit, Islamic microfinance, and business communication. He holds a B.Sc. in Ag. Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University, an M.S. from the Institute of Postgraduate Studies in Agriculture, and a Ph.D. from Imperial College, University of London, UK. He also completed a Post-graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Insurance from IIBI, UK. He was the Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. training academy. He is Serving as Executive director of the Center for Strategic and Peace Studies (CSPS).
Mokhter Ahmad Islamic scholar and motivational public speaker. He was the Director at Daffodil Islamic Center at Daffodil International University. Concurrently, he serves as an Associate Professor at International Islamic University Chittagong, where he has held this position since September 2001. Mokhter Ahmad is also a Visiting Professor at the Islamic University of Technology-IUT, OIC, Gazipur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a media person who anchors the famous reality show PHP Quraner Alo broadcast by NTV. He is also a member of the Sharia Supervisory Board of the Center for Zakat Management (CZM).
Sheikh Shah Mohammad WaliUllah, an Islamic Scholar, completed his higher studies in Islamic Economics and Banking at Al-Azhar University in Egypt. He serves as a member/chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee for various banks and insurance companies, Member of the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks in Bangladesh and the Shariah Supervisory Council of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, and also a member of the Shariah Supervisory Board of the Center for Zakat Management (CZM). He actively speaks on ATN Bangla TV and currently holds the position of Khatib at Sobhanbagh Masjid, Dhaka.
Shahriar Kabir is the Executive Director of the Institute of Islamic Social Finance (IISF). He previously served as the General Manager at the Center for Zakat Management (CZM) in Bangladesh. An alumnus of the University of Dhaka, he brings extensive expertise in Islamic social finance and community development. During his tenure at CZM, he played a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission of promoting zakat-based poverty alleviation and social welfare initiatives.
