Islamic Social Finance has recently emerged as a new area of academic interest. In a country like Bangladesh, predominantly populated by Muslims and the poor, there is immense scope to explore how this field can play a role and bring about meaningful change. Potential areas of research include:

  • The impact, methods, and prospects of institutions based on Zakat, Sadaqah, and Waqf in Bangladesh.

  • The current state of Zakat and Ushr coverage and collection practices in the country.

  • Evaluation of the success of various Zakat-based projects.

  • Comparative studies of Zakat and Waqf institutions in other countries and Zakat management practices in Bangladesh.

Education and Training
  • Basic and regular training for Zakat workers and volunteers.
  • Courses on Zakat education and calculation.
